Considered answers.
The Antarctic summer (November–March) is remarkably mild — coastal temperatures typically range from -2°C to +8°C. Silversea provides expedition parkas and boots; you dress in layers, and the ship itself is deeply warm and considered.
The Drake can be a gentle 'Drake Lake' or a spirited 'Drake Shake'. Modern expedition ships like Silver Wind carry stabilisers, and the medical team offers preventative options. Most guests find it entirely manageable.
November brings pristine ice and courting penguins. December–January is peak wildlife with 24-hour daylight. February–March offers the best whale sightings. We help you match season to preference.
Reasonable mobility is required — climbing in and out of Zodiacs, walking on uneven terrain. It is not a demanding trip, but it is not a passive one either. We're happy to discuss suitability.
Antarctica itself requires no visa. However, Argentina (via Ushuaia) does. We handle visa guidance and documentation as part of end-to-end planning.
Less than you'd think. Silversea provides parkas and boots. You bring thermal layers, waterproof trousers, sun protection, and a camera. We send a considered packing list closer to departure.
Yes. We routinely book Business and First Class flights to Buenos Aires with private transfers throughout your South American programme.
For Antarctica, comprehensive polar-region insurance is essential and often required by the cruise line. We arrange bespoke policies with medical evacuation cover.
